John Stith Pemberton concocted Coca-Cola by accident while working with different ingredients to try to make good tasting medicine, in 1886. After Pemberton left the Civil War, he was seeking to invent a product that would make him commercially famous. Pemberton was usually not good at inventing things, but after moving to Atlanta, GA, he decided he would give it a go in the beverage department. However, Pemberton did not know how to advertise. This is where Frank Robinson came in who registered Coca-Cola's formula in the patent office as well as designed the logo, afterwards going on to write the slogan "The Pause That Refreshes." Unfortunately, John Pemberton passed away in 1888 and did not get to see his success. As of now, Coca-Cola is one of the most recognized brands in all of the world and is the 84th largest economy, just ahead of Costa Rica.
